Sukai Liu, CFA

Sukai Liu is founder and president of Visor Alternative Investments LLC. Mr. Liu has more than 30 years of experience in capital markets and global trading. His trading and sales experience extends across multiple assets classes and instruments, including derivatives, fixed income, equity and foreign exchange. Mr. Liu has extensive experience in structured products, including collateralized debt obligations (CDOs).

Prior to Visor, Mr. Liu was head of hedge fund portfolio management at Gulf Stream Asset Management, an asset manager with a $3.8 billion portfolio of corporate credits. Prior to Gulf Stream, Mr. Liu was a managing director and Chief Investment Officer of CooperNeff Advisors Inc. (the U.S. hedge fund subsidiary of BNP Paribas), Head of Alternative Credit for Fischer Francis Trees & Watts (a subsidiary of BNP Paribas) and Senior Portfolio Manager for the FFTW Global Credit Fund. He joined CooperNeff as Head of Credit, Convertibles and Capital Structure Arbitrage and the Senior Portfolio Manager of the CooperNeff Convertible Strategies Fund. Prior to that, Mr. Liu was a founding partner, Chief Investment Officer and Chief Operating Officer for Gyre Capital Management and also served as president of Gyre Securities LLC and Visor Capital Management LLC.

Mr. Liu has been a Managing Director and Global Head of Trading and Structured Products at SunTrust Capital Markets, the investment banking unit of SunTrust Bank, where he co-headed the firm’s Derivatives and Foreign Exchange business. He was also a member of the management committee of the Corporate and Investment Banking Division. At SunTrust Bank, he was responsible for all trading aspects of the firm’s capital markets business, for which he managed a team of more than 50 traders. He also successfully managed a proprietary credit derivative portfolio employing various fundamental and relative values trading strategies.

Mr. Liu is a Chartered Financial Analyst and a member of the Association for Investment Management and Research, the Atlanta Society of Financial Analysts, the International Financial Engineers Association, and the Global Association of Risk Professionals. He is a member of the board of trustees of The Westminster Schools and its investment committee. He is also a member of the board of directors of the Atlanta Symphony Orchestra, and previously of the Dekalb Symphony Orchestra. Mr. Liu has a bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering and actuarial science from the University of Texas at Austin and a master’s degree in international business studies from the University of South Carolina.

Wayne E. Yang

Wayne Yang is a principal at Visor. Prior to joining Visor, Mr. Yang was head of research at Hamilton Lane, a private equity advisory firm with billions under management. Mr. Yang has worked for private equity firm Pegasus Capital Advisors, where he analyzed the publicly-traded bank debt, bonds and equities of distressed companies and managed the firm's trading positions. Prior to Pegasus, Mr. Yang specialized in mezzanine underwriting and investing for merchant banking boutique Libra Investments. He also has worked for the New York-based leveraged finance group and the Zurich-based global derivatives group of Union Bank of Switzerland. Mr. Yang holds a bachelors from the University of South Carolina and a masters from Cornell University.

Morgan Avitabile

Morgan Avitabile is a senior trader responsible for market, capital structure arbitrage and relative value strategies. His responsibilities include security analysis and selection, determination of entry and exit points for positions, forming effective hedging strategies, and risk management, both on the position level and on the portfolio level. Prior to joining Visor, he was a trader at CooperNeff in the convertibles and equity derivatives groups. Before joining CooperNeff, he worked as a civil engineer. He graduated from the University of Pennsylvania with a B.S. in Civil Engineering.

Sundeep Dhaliwal

Sundeep Dhaliwal is a senior trader responsible for market, relative value and capital structure arbitrage strategies. He is responsible for structuring and trading credit derivative positions. Prior to his role at Visor and CooperNeff, Mr. Dhaliwal was a Vice President at SunTrust Capital Markets in Atlanta. He spent six years at SunTrust trading fixed income derivatives, equity derivatives and structured credit derivative products. Previously, he was an Associate with Barclays Capital in New York, where he was responsible for trading CMT/CMS swaps and options and energy derivatives. Mr. Dhaliwal holds a Bachelors of Business Administration degree (with concentrations in accounting and finance) from The University of Vermont.

Charles Davis, Ph.D.

Charlie Davis is responsible for credit research and development of credit related models. Dr. Davis has had a diverse career, including operating management in both public and private companies and investment experience in the debt and derivatives markets. After five years teaching undergraduate and graduate logic courses, he founded and served as CEO of General Microcomputer, Inc. He later led the take over and served as the CEO of the recreational land subsidiaries of Southmark, creating the USTrails, Inc. membership system (now Thousand Trails, Inc.). More recently, he served as CFO of Anthology Solutions, Inc. a venture funded leader in the digital media storage segment.

Mr. Davis began his capital markets activities at M.J.Whitman & Co., specializing in the debt of distressed companies and their reorganization. He was active in the reorganization of a number of companies including Anglo Energy (now Nabors), Public Service New Hampshire, Southland (7/11) and Southmark. He extended his bond market experience at Fahnestock & Co. and Ladenburg Thalman before joining SunTrust. At SunTrust, Mr. Davis served as a director of the high yield and mezzanine groups before joining the Structured Products Group ,where he began working with credit derivatives and other structured products. Mr. Davis was awarded a B.S. in Physics and a Ph.D. in Mathematical Logic, both from the University of Notre Dame.

Allen Abrahamson, Ph.D.

Allen Abrahamson is responsible for developing and implementing the analytical models and software on which the firm’s quantitative strategies are based. Prior to joining Visor, Dr. Abrahamson was Director of Quantitative Risk Management for Credit Risk Management at SunTrust Robinson Humphrey, Inc. in Atlanta. Prior to that, he was a consultant and software vendor to SunTrust Capital Markets for more than eight years, providing risk management and trading software applications. He provided software applications to other clients as well, including Cicada Development, Western Asset Management and First Trust Corporation. He was Director of Research for GAT Corporation (later BARRA) in New York in both the software systems and consulting divisions. Dr. Abrahamson has a Ph.D. in Mathematical Statistics and Quantitative Methods, and completed the full course work for the Doctorate in Business Administration with specialization in Finance from the University of Arizona. He has served as an Assistant Professor of Finance at the University of Denver.
